Each Spring semester, Alpha Kappa Delta (the national Honor’s Society for Sociology) and the Sociology Club organizes a series of events, over the course of a few days, focusing on a particular topic. The events examine the ways our discipline approaches relevant social problems, highlight organizations doing work around the topic, and offer students, staff, and faculty an opportunity for networking and community building.
Past Sociology Week topics include “Racism in the 21st Century” (Spring 2021), Education: A Sociological Perspective (Spring 2022) and Advocating for Justice Reform (Spring 2023), Sociology in Action: How to use Sociology to make the world a better place (Spring 2024).
This year's theme is "Society in the Technology Era".
